Winter Snow Event Parking Regulations
The City of Montezuma would like to remind residents to be prepared for all winter emergencies, including snow and ice storm events. This includes city parking regulations and bans until the snow has ceased to fall and the 48-hour period that follows. No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or City-owned off-street parking area during any snow emergency. City of Montezuma Ordinance 69.13
Sidewalk Snow Removal Reminder
For the safety and benefit of everyone, and as the winter season unfolds, the City of Montezuma would like to remind all residents of their responsibility to keep sidewalks clear. It is the responsibility of the abutting property owners to remove snow, ice or accumulations within 48 hours of any any weather related event. After that time, the City may do so on your behalf and assess the costs against the property owner for collection in the same manner as property tax. Please contact the City Offices for further clarification or if you have questions regarding this regulation. City of Montezuma Ordinance 138.03
Building Permits & Zoning
The City of Montezuma Zoning Ordinance was adopted in April of 2014. Pursuant to zoning regulations, building permits will now be approved by the City’s Zoning Administrator rather than the City Council. Click here to download an application for building permit. Your completed application and related filing fee must be submitted to the City Clerk.
