Our city utility headquarters provides one-stop convenience for newcomers and residents alike. Water, natural gas, electricity, and recycling services are all arranged and managed by the utility office. Montezuma is proud to be a public utilities community with many updated systems, including CDBG funding for water quality improvements. Montezuma Light & Power has implemented the direct debit payment service for utility bills. Participants in the direct debit program will receive a bill via email, but instead of writing a check, the amount due is deducted electronically from the customer’s account on the 25th of each month. If you would like to sign up for this program, please complete the authorization form and mail or drop off at the Montezuma Utility Office: 501 E. Main, PO Box 340, Montezuma, IA 50171.
Montezuma Municipal Light & Power is now taking applications for the position of Assistant Billing Clerk. This is a part-time position with varying hours. Applications are available at the Montezuma Municipal Utilities Office.

Audas Recycling & Trash Services
Audas Sanitation & Recylcing offers commercial and residential service for the City of Montezuma, Lake Ponderosa and rural residents. A monthly recycling ordinance fee of $8.50 is required for city residents and is billled with other monthly utility services. Mixed paper including cardboard, plastic and glass containers should be sorted for recycling. Garbage should be prepared for pick-up in required bags that are available at Montezuma Supervalu, the city office or through Audas Sanitation. Audas is located at 830 S. South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency
South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency (SCISWA) is a four-county inter-governmental unit serving Lucas, Marion, Monroe and Poweshiek Counties. The Agency area, which was formed in 1994, consists of 26 towns including Victor in Iowa County. The counties and cities in the Agency area joined forces so they could manage waste in the most effective and cost-efficient way possible and to better meet state and federal regulations. SCISWA operates a Transfer Station in Poweshiek County near Malcom where waste is collected and then hauled to Marion County. The Transfer Station also serves as a permanent drop-off for hazardous household chemicals. WEBSITE
