In 2015, Montezuma Community Development in conjunction with the Montezuma Community School District held the 1st Annual Monte Pride Day, a city-wide community service day dedicated to improving the appearance of our town and instilling the value of volunteerism in the next generation.  Three wildly successful Monte Pride Days have been held since 2015.  Almost 900 volunteers have participated collectively over the three years; this represents nearly a $75,000 service investment in Montezuma! Monte Pride Day is driven by the financial support of our local businesses, and we are so fortunate to have a fantastic group of sponsors that share MCD's vision.

Dozens of projects are completed each year including: rehabilitation of the Bonham Trail, cleanup of the West & East City Parks,

downtown beautification planting, painting projects, senior yard cleanup, Diamond Lake trash pick-up, courthouse landscaping and many others!  Monte Pride Day is traditionally held the last week of April each year.  If you are interested in participating, either as a volunteer or a sponsor, please email MCD Director Whitney Baethke at whitney@montezumaiowa.org.
