Regional Alliance for Innovative Development

IVGThe Regional Alliance for Innovative Development is a collaborative effort of Iowa Valley Community College Grinnell, Poweshiek Iowa Development, Montezuma Community Development, Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce, SCORE, Poweshiek County Extension, and other partners to provide outreach, education, and technical resources to small business owners in Poweshiek County.   Business development workshops are held throughout the year, including Lunch & Learns.  For more information contact MaryAnne Nickle at Iowa Valley Community College, 641-236-0513.

Region 6 Planning Commission

imagesCALSW97FRegion 6 Planning Commission, headquartered in Marshalltown, is a voluntary association of local governments established in 1974 to provide member communities with professional services in the areas of comprehensive planning, access to federal and state transportation funding, housing assistance, public transit services, and grant writing and administration.   If you are currently operating a business or considering starting a business, Region 6 provides loans to qualified professional services, commercial establishments, or industrial businesses in a 4 county area.  Region 6 assistance has created 59 new jobs, saved 30 existing jobs and leveraging $28 million in funding.  It is the Region 6 Planning Commission’s goal to promote economic development throughout the region.  WEBSITE

score1SCORE is a nonprofit association with 50 years of dedication in helping small businesses get off the ground, and grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. Because SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and a network of 12,000+ volunteers, services are delivered at no charge or at very low cost.  Services include mentorships, free confidential business planning, online planning tools, and inexpensive or free local workshops and webinars.  WEBSITE
